ll three are designed to manage incontinence, but they suit different levels of mobility and independence:

• Slips (also called tab-style or fitted briefs) open flat and fasten at the sides with adhesive tabs, similar to a nappy. This makes them the easiest option for a carer to fit while someone is lying down or has limited ability to stand, weight-bear, or dress themselves. Best for assisted care and higher mobility needs.
  
• Pull-Up Pants go on and come off just like regular underwear, making them ideal for anyone who can dress independently — including people managing their own care, or those who are mobile but want extra confidence day-to-day. Best for people who can change themselves.
  
• The Pad & Pant System pairs a reusable stretch pant with an insert pad, changed separately. A carer can often change just the pad without needing to fully undress the person, which can be quicker and gentler for both parties. Best for assisted care that needs more flexibility than Slips allow.

The number of changes per day varies on the individual, as levels of need do differ. We recommend changing the incontinence aid as soon as it is wet or soiled, no matter your age, in order to keep your skin happy, healthy and irritation-free.

Prolonged contact with moisture can contribute to skin irritation, like rashes or Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD).

That's why choosing a properly fitted, breathable product and changing it promptly to keep the area clean and dry are important parts of everyday skin care for anyone managing incontinence. If skin irritation occurs, it's worth speaking with a GP or continence nurse advisor.

It mainly comes down to mobility and independence. If the person can stand, pull up their own underwear, and manage a bathroom visit largely on their own, Pull-Up Pants are usually the best option.

If they need help with changes — for example, due to reduced mobility, being bed-based, or needing a carer's assistance — Slips or the Pad & Pant System are generally better suited. Between those two, Slips are simpler for a full change, while the Pad & Pant System can be more convenient when only the pad needs changing.

Simply roll the product up tightly, place into a nappy bag if you have one and dispose of it in the general waste bin. Do not flush.

Sizing will be more accurate if you go by waist/hip measurement rather than clothing size, so it's worth measuring before ordering rather than guessing.
